UKirk Mural
In 2023 we began the process of tranforming our worship space with a mural. Inspired by the desire to enhance the welcome of our space, we commissioned a student to design a mural to speak to who we are as a community. With the help of many students, and many hours of creating, painting, and fellowship, in September of 2024 the UKirk mural was offically finished and dedicated to our space. We hope it will continue to bless this community for many years to come.
Artist Statement
“This place means much to many. Faces change, pews shift, walls repainted, but the space refuses to alter in its profoundness. I can only begin to comprehend what this space means to others at the same level that I know what it means to me. Unwavering in comfort, the floors ground our feet, the walls enshroud us, and the ceiling above remind us of this protected space.
Nature takes a similar shape – unpredictable changes that somehow feel familiar to us. It is impossible to capture its wholeness. Shards of glass stitched together and projected through paint only begin to unravel its vastness. Nature is wrapped up in humanness. By viewing this piece, you are a part of the composition. A part of the whole, the life imbued in the wall is only possible because of the people who view it. So, thank you for looking and being.”
