Want to be a UKirk Resident?

The residency program at UKirk UTK serves as a housing and service opportunity for students looking for a deeper experience and connection with the Presbyterian Campus Ministry. We strive to be a positive presence on campus for those looking for a home away from home.

The two-year program offers up to four residents use of the 2nd floor of the house. The apartment has three bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, two bathrooms, and a separate entrance for privacy and extra security. All bedrooms are furnished with beds, mattresses, end tables and chest of drawers. The living room is furnished with couches, recliners, tables and a flat screen TV. The basement level, which serves as a common area for UKirk students, has free laundry facilities and a second kitchen. There is an outdoor patio space, a fire pit, and plenty of yard. Every resident also receives one reserved parking space at the house. Rent includes all utilities (water and electricity) cable, internet, and most streaming platforms.

In addition to a monthly rental fee of $350, residents are expected to help with household chores and yard work (taking out trash, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and making sure common areas are kept tidy).

Finally, residents are expected to be active participants in the UKirk program by attending UWorship, Seminary Light, group outings, and special events. Residents are ambassadors for UKirk so a helpful and eager attitude is paramount. Living at the UKirk house means showing hospitality and Christian love to all who walk through the door.

To be considered for residency, students must submit an application and a personal recommendation form an individual who may speak on behalf of your spiritual growth. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours each semester and be responsible for a personal list of household chores. Priority is given to juniors and seniors; however, if spots go unfilled, sophomores will be considered.
